Addendum – Child Abuse Identification-Mandated Reporter

Welcome to the Addendum for the Child Abuse Identification (CAI) – Mandated Reporter Certification Course.  This Addendum is only available to those who have previously completed the Child Abuse Identification (CAI) Mandated Reporter Training through Genesee Valley BOCES between November 16, 2023 and August 5, 2025.  The Addendum includes guidance on identifying an abuse or maltreated child when such child is an individual with an intellectual or developmental disability per the most recent amendment to Section 413 of the Social Services Law.  Every person who has previously undergone the 2024 mandated reporter training related to child abuse, must take the Addendum by November 17, 2026.  The Addendum is asynchronous and takes 20 minutes to complete.
